Triangles and sharp lines have always been aesthetically pleasing to me. The way hard geometric lines intermingle with soft natural shapes reminds me of the way humans impose themselves into nature. My color edge paintings stand as a symbol for things within human nature that can’t often be symbolized; like a person’s memories, emotions, or their sense of self.
When I start a color edge painting, I have a certain amount of colors I’ve chosen to represent a person. From there, I just try to let go and let the paint do as it pleases. The less control I have the better, as the things that shape a person are rarely under their control.
